Next Steps Get Involved Pastors Greg and Torri Peterson grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. At an early age they both had a passionate desire for the Lord and a heart to serve people. As they served together in their local church, and eventually married, they both felt a calling to minister throughout the Chicago land area. This passion and desire fueled them to follow the call of God, and in 1985 they started Believers Church. What started with a few dozen people in a small warehouse has transformed to a church reaching over 1000 people on a weekly basis. Together, with their four children, Katelynn Brittany Jarett and Lindsey, they have been pastors of Believers Church for more than 25 years. With a vision to reach this community and see lives transformed for Jesus Christ, Believers Church now sits strategically on 25 acres located at the northwest corner of Interstate 57 and U.S. Route 30 (Lincoln Highway). Their commitment to serve the Lord and to serve this local body of believers has made an incredible impact in the Chicago land area. Our Beliefs Our Pastors Student Ministries, ages 11 through 15, creates an environment where teens can prioritize their relationship with Christ and influence their friends in a positive way. The foundation for what students are taught is summed up in the "7 Checkpoints" taught every week. In addition, they are introduced to small groups to have individualized attention and plenty of interaction with their peers. Oh, and did I mention FUN!!! From video games, to lock-ins, to dodge ball, there is plenty for a young adult to do. Student Ministries meets on Sundays during the 11am service in room 204.

Student Ministries From newborn through age 11, our Children's Ministries are designed to help your kids grow in a relationship with God and with their peers. Every week a basic truth is illustrated by a key concept that is creatively taught using object lessons, hands - on activities, and fun experiments with Bible stories and memory verses. We also introduce small groups sharing about the weekly topic to give them individual attention and plenty of interaction with their group of peers. These ministries are held during our Sunday morning Services. Childrens Ministries On the third Sunday of every month, at the end of service, is an opportunity for all of us as a church to partake of communion. The bible emphasizes the importance of partaking of communion until the Lord Jesus returns. Communion is a symbolic representation of God's love toward you represented in the "body" (cracker) and "blood" (juice) when Jesus hung on the cross taking away our sins. Communion is a time where we can tell God of our problems, confess our faults to Him, and ask for strength to overcome difficulties in our life. We have available at our kiosk, during services, audio CDs you can take with you discussing in further detail what communion is about.

Communion Sunday Upcoming Events A great place to really learn about God is on Sunday morning. Whether you've been here for awhile or you are brand new today, you've probably noticed things are done with purpose. From casual dress to the style of music, it's designed to help you take in all the wonderful things God is doing here. It's also a reason why our Pastor's messages are practical and apply to every day life. From children's ministries to adult ministries, we've designed it with purpose, with you in mind. So plan on attending one of our Sunday services at 9:00am or 11:00am. And enjoy the coffee and donuts when service is over.

Adult Ministries Life Skill Classes are designed to enhance and increase your skills on many different areas we as people go through. We offer a variety of classes that last from 6-8 weeks here at the church, usually mid-week. Life Skills Open House is a casual, interactive, 30 minute overview of life at Believers Church. It's a great way to find out what is going on and how to get involved. You'll have plenty of time to attend either the 9:00am or 11:00am service and your children are welcome to be in the Children's Ministry that's right for them while you get acquianted. Open House Open House is a casual, interactive, 30 minute overview of life at Believers Church. It's a great way to find out what is going on and how to get involved. It is offered from 10:30 -11am every first Sunday of the month. (no class for the month of August) No need to sign up, just join us. Starting Point is a 10 week small group environment where you can explore faith and experience community.
